In addition to coaching, I love spending time with my wife and three children. I love to golf, travel, and experience as many new things as I can! I enjoy writing - one of my life goals is to write and publish a book once my coaching career is over. I am a high school teacher at Herriman HS, where I teach Health, PE, Psychology, and College Athletic Recruiting.

    I am Jaeron Masina, born to JR and Karen Masina. I grew up in the Herriman area where I played rugby and football. I have been around the game of rugby since the 7th grade where I grew to love the game, and the culture that it provides. I played rugby for Utah Valley University and loved it.

    Accolades: 2015 Herriman 7's State Champion, 2016 15's State Champion, Former Herriman Rugby captain.

    SEAN McKINNEY

    Bula! I'm Coach Sean and am very fortunate to help lead the charge for the 9/10 side. A majority of my playing career was spent in the pack as a tight head prop. I came to Herriman Rugby in 2016 after suffering an injury while playing with Park City Haggis and only planned on being here for a year during my recovery. I'm a L2 coach, L1 Strength and Conditioning & L1 Referee. This season, I was able to join the University of Utah Rugby staff where I'm the player development / 2nd XVs head coach and program recruiter. I'm excited for another season to coach your boys!

    Position Group: Head Coach, Forwards, and the Dark Arts of the Scrum

    Experience: 8 years coaching, 20+ years playing

    Accolades: 3 Titles. Two in 15s and one in 7s. Taken 9/10s to 4 straight title games.

    Hi there! I’m Coach Canyon and I’ve been apart of the Herriman Rugby program since it’s inception in 2011. I had never thought about playing rugby until Coach Jeff Wilson started the program and talked about the skills I could develop that would transfer to the football field. I was blessed to be apart of the first Herriman team to win a state championship and travel to Nationals to compete against the best teams in the country. Once I hung up the cleats, I took up coaching and have been at Herriman since I graduated in 2013. Coaching is a passion of mine and I find an indescribable amount of fulfillment watching your young men grow as athletes and as individuals. I attribute a lot of who I am today to the lessons and qualities that were instilled in me when I went through the program and my hope is that your sons will feel the same when all is said and done.

    Accolades: 2013 All-State, 2 State Championships as a player, 4 State Championships as a Coach.

    My name is Chris Rowe and I've been with the program since the beginning. I was lucky enough to play for this program when I was in High School. I have a beautiful wife and two amazing children. My son's name is Easton and my daughter’s name is McKinley. I love coaching these boys and helping them learn the game I fell in love with all those years ago.

    Position Group: Head Coach / Backs (Wings & Fullback)

    Experience: 8 years coaching, 4 years playing

    Accolades: 1 State Championship as a player, 4 State Championships as a Coach.

    My greatest joy in life truly is my family, it’s also where I’ve put my greatest effort and focus in to the past several years. I spent my first 20 years being an adult chasing job after job and eventually retiring from the Army in 2018. Now I get to enjoy being a dad, husband and coach more than ever before. Rugby has been our family’s anchor in life, and has become our new extended family. I’m proud to be a part of the Herriman Rugby family and to be working with our middle school aged boys coaching the fundamentals of the game. Here’s to another great year at Herriman!

    Coach CJ Dunn

    I started coaching little league rugby 9 years ago, and started helping with the 7/8 team a few years later. Its tough having every year as a rebuilding year, but very rewarding seeing the boys go on and develop at 9/10 and succeed in Varsity. I'm very grateful to be able to be a part of the Herriman program, and thankful for all the players and families that make the program what it is.
